Full Mission Statement

BOBPE is an initiative focused on leveraging bot-based technologies to deliver scalable personalized education and productivity enhancement. Grounded in decades of learning science, and motivated by Bloom’s 2-Sigma problem, BOBPE explores how modern AI systems can approximate the benefits of one-on-one tutoring, individualized feedback, and expert mentorship without requiring unsustainable human labor.

The central goal of BOBPE is not to replace instructors or automate learning, but to amplify human teaching. By offloading routine, repetitive, and time-intensive tasks to well-scoped AI systems, instructors are able to focus more of their effort on high-impact interactions that support deeper understanding, critical thinking, and student growth. In parallel, students gain access to timely, personalized feedback and guided reflection that would otherwise be infeasible at scale.


Educational Foundation: Bloom’s 2-Sigma Problem

Bloom’s 2-Sigma study demonstrated that students receiving one-on-one tutoring perform two standard deviations better than those in traditional classroom settings. Despite this clear evidence, individualized instruction at scale has historically been impossible due to constraints on instructor time, staffing, and resources.

BOBPE positions modern AI systems as a practical mechanism for addressing this long-standing challenge. By embedding bot-based tutors, feedback systems, and instructional assistants into authentic learning workflows, BOBPE seeks to close the gap between what educational research shows is effective and what institutions can realistically provide.
